Job Corps Center |
Blue Ridge Job Corps Center, located in Marion, Virginia, offers
a high school diploma program, a GED program, off-center training
and advanced training programs, in addition to the following vocational
training programs: Blue Ridge Job Corps Center has 60 dorm rooms with the capacity
to house 300 students. There are many fun activities to take part
in on center, such as billiards, arts and crafts and video games,
as well as several sports, including basketball, softball, soccer,
volleyball, flag football, track and cheerleading.
Students can also take advantage of leadership opportunities, like
the Student Government Association, community service projects and
the Blue Ridge Against Drugs club.
Blue Ridge Job Corps Center has partnerships with many local employers
so students can get real work experience. Employer partners include
Francis Marion Manor, the Smyth County Free Clinic,
Smyth County Schools, Southwest Virginia Mental Health Institute, the Virginia Employment Commission and WZVA radio station.
